Understand WordPress and your website layout
Your website runs on WordPress, which is basically the control centre behind the scenes.
- What your visitors see is the front end.
- What you edit is the back end.
- When you log in, you’re inside WordPress.
- And when you click ‘Edit with Elementor’, that’s where you design and update your pages visually.
Think of WordPress as the engine, and Elementor as the editing tool you use to change content.
For now, the only thing you need to remember is this:
WordPress holds your pages and blog posts, and Elementor is where you edit them.
How can I log in to the WordPress Dashboard?
You simply enter your website address in the address bar of a browser (not in Google!!) and add this: wp-admin, for example: www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin
This will then show you the login form.
If you’re questioned to set up 2FA, please choose Authenticator App, Email and download and store your backup codes.
Something missing?
Send me your question and I will add a lesson on how to do this in this online course.
