Enquiries doubled overnight
As soon as Kirsten’s new website went live, her enquiries doubled. Not because she changed what she does, because her website finally started reflecting how good she is at it.
Does your website match the quality of your cakes?
If you’re a cake maker, chances are your work speaks for itself. Your Instagram is full of beautiful photos. Word of mouth keeps you busy.
But when someone finds your website for the first time, someone who doesn’t already know you, what do they see?
If your site looks dated, loads slowly, or makes it hard to get in touch, you could be losing enquiries without ever knowing about it.
That’s exactly where Kirsten was before we started working together.
The problem with the old site
Cakes by Kirsten is based in Perthshire and makes stunning bespoke cakes for weddings, birthdays and special occasions. She had a Wix website that did the job when she first started out, but as her business grew, it started to hold her back.
It wasn’t showing up well when people searched for cakes in her area. It didn’t feel as polished as her work. And it wasn’t making it easy for potential customers to understand how to order.
She was getting enquiries, but not as many as she deserved.
What we changed on her cake website
We rebuilt the site on WordPress, which gives far more flexibility and performs better in search results.
But more importantly, we focused on the things that actually matter to someone landing on the page for the first time:
- Does it look trustworthy and beautiful?
- Can they quickly understand what you offer?
- Do they know how to get in touch?
The new site answers yes to all three.
The result after the website went live
Within days of the new site going live, Kirsten’s enquiries doubled.
Not because of a big marketing campaign. Not because she changed her prices or her products. Just because the right people could now find her, and when they did, the website gave them every reason to get in touch.
Could your website be doing more for your cake business?
If you’re relying mainly on social media to bring in customers, your website could be quietly working against you, or simply not working at all.
A website that’s built properly can bring in enquiries while you’re busy baking, sleeping, or doing the school run.
If you’d like to talk about what your website could be doing for your business, I’d love to hear from you.
